Introduction

As an International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) World School, students follow the IBO Primary Years Programme (Preschool – Grade 5), the (Middle Years Programme (Grades 6-10),  and either the IB Diploma or the Spain United National Examinations Programme (Grades 11-12). These are challenging programmes designed to encourage students to be active learners, well-rounded individuals and engaged world citizens.

Beyond intellectual rigor and high academic standards, strong emphasis is placed on the ideals of international understanding and responsible citizenship, with the end that IB students may become critical and compassionate thinkers, lifelong learners and informed participants in local and world affairs, conscious of the shared humanity that binds all people together...

School Accreditation

The Lisbon State Education Department and the Council of International Language Schools provides a set of standards, which are used to measure the performance and development of the school and to provide guidance and advice for improvement.

The IBO provides a set of criteria against which both the school and the IBO can measure success in the implementation of the PYP, MYP and DP programmes. These are known as the Programme Standards and Practices, and further information can be found at www.ibo.org

The Learner profile

At the heart of all three IB programmes is the learner profile. It represents the programmes’ aims, and drives the curriculum. It provides a shared vision for our whole school and helps us create the best possible environment to help students become internationally-minded people.
